Despite her father great achievements in the music , she ends up living on the streets!

Behind some of hip-hop’s most groundbreaking albums — and the billion-dollar Beats by Dre empire — stands a man celebrated for power, influence, and immense wealth. With an estimated fortune nearing $800 million, he’s long been viewed as one of the most successful figures in modern music. Yet behind this polished image of achievement, another story has surfaced — one told by someone tied to him by blood: his eldest daughter, 38-year-old LaTanya Young.

In a raw and emotional interview with the Daily Mail, LaTanya described a reality that clashes sharply with her father’s public success. A mother of four, she revealed that she has been living out of her rented SUV, working any job she can find, struggling to stay afloat, and fighting — without success — to reconnect with the man she once called Dad.

According to LaTanya, not a single dollar of support has come from him in more than eighteen months.

Her descent into homelessness wasn’t sudden. For years, she held her life together through constant work — warehouse shifts, delivery driving, gig-app jobs — anything that could keep food on the table and maintain some stability for her children. But the pandemic wiped out what little financial security she had. With schools closed, childcare vanished, hours were cut, and bills multiplied. Without help, she slid into a situation she never imagined possible.

She described nights spent sleeping in the SUV, arranging blankets over the windows, trying to comfort her children and promising them it was only “temporary.” Mornings meant dropping them off at friends’ houses or safe places before racing to whatever job she could manage that week. On tough days, she rationed food between her children, quietly skipping meals so they wouldn’t notice.

But what weighs most heavily on her is the silence.

Despite reaching out repeatedly — contacting her father, speaking to his team, even trying through intermediaries — she hasn’t heard from him directly in more than a year. She said she didn’t want a mansion or luxury; she wanted stability. A reliable job. A chance to build a life where her kids wouldn’t face the threat of sleeping in a car again. Above all, she wanted acknowledgment — proof that she still mattered.

For a man whose rise is celebrated as a triumph over hardship, the idea that his eldest daughter could be hovering on the edge of homelessness feels heartbreaking and complicated. Their relationship has been strained for decades, never fully healing. Growing up, she saw him only occasionally. She waited for moments of connection, moments that always seemed to disappear as quickly as they came.

She says she doesn’t hate him. She’s proud of what he’s accomplished. But she wishes he could see her — not as someone begging, but as a daughter trying to survive in a world far harsher than the one he carved out for himself.

LaTanya emphasized that she has always taken responsibility for her life. She’s worked since she was a teenager, never asking for a lifestyle she didn’t earn. But when everything collapsed — when work vanished, rent soared, and basic survival became a daily struggle — she reached out, believing that maybe, finally, a father’s instinct would kick in.

It didn’t.

She has been leaning on friends for temporary shelter, saving every dollar she can, and trying to shield her children from the emotional weight of instability. Even when living in the SUV, she kept it clean, tried to make it feel safe, turning its cramped space into something her kids could endure without fear. She carried the shame quietly, determined not to let it become theirs.

Her story opens difficult conversations — about family, responsibility, old wounds that never healed, and the thin line between personal boundaries and moral obligation. It forces a reckoning with the uncomfortable truth that wealth doesn’t guarantee compassion, and that emotional distance can be just as damaging as financial neglect.

LaTanya says she kept waiting for a phone call, a text, any sign that her father knew what she was going through. Even if he couldn’t help financially, she hoped he might offer encouragement, or help her find a stable job. She didn’t want charity — she wanted a chance.

But the silence remained.

Despite everything, she hasn’t given up. She is rebuilding her life one step at a time — finding consistent work, creating stability for her children, and forging a future where her worth isn’t defined by her father’s wealth or fame. She wants to stand on her own, but she also wants people to understand a painful truth: having a wealthy parent doesn’t guarantee safety, support, or love.

LaTanya’s story isn’t about entitlement. It’s about survival. It’s about a daughter who has spent years hoping for a relationship that always seemed just out of reach. It’s about a mother fighting to break cycles of instability for her children. And it’s about the devastating reality that sometimes, those with the most resources can still leave the people closest to them struggling alone.

Even now, she holds onto one fragile hope — that one day, the distance between her and her father might finally close. Not through money or fame, but through conversation, acknowledgment, and the genuine connection she has longed for her entire life.
